Ptosis Of The Eyelid Or Eyebrow

Ptosis is also known as a drooping eyelid that can occur for many different reasons. If ptosis occurs suddenly, seek medical attention from your eye doctor to rule out the possibility of a life threatening condition. Ophthalmology Associates of Osborne has a variety of surgical techniques that we can share with you to correct ptosis.

Eyebrow ptosis is when your forehead and eye brow are drooping, weighing down your eyelid, there are several surgical techniques that provide relief. Botox® may provide temporary relief in some situations. If Botox® does not work; our doctors may recommend surgery, which includes making small incisions in your eyelid, brow and mid-forehead.

Blepharoplasty For Dermatochalasis

Dermatochalasis is when your eyelid has extra skin that has grown and made your eyelids droop. The excess skin may overlap causing a hood-like look where you would normally apply eye shadow. The surgery to remove the extra skin and muscle is referred to as a blepharoplasty and can be covered by your insurance.
