Optomap® non-mydriatic fundus imaging

There still is no substitute for a physician actually examining your retina in real time and in 3-D with a dilated pupil; however, Optomap® fundus imaging has become extremely popular and can play a role in screening for and monitoring the progression of retinal disease. Ophthalmology Associates is pleased to offer Optomap® imaging at two of its offices, with the advantage that this imaging technology does not require dilating eye drops. Optomap® as a screening tool is an elective, non-insurance covered procedure, but if a known retinal condition exists, then it is covered by insurance, since it is a form of fundus photography.
