Botox has long been used in an attempt to soften the appearance of lateral rhytids (or “crow’s feet”) and lines around the lips. However, there are now better techniques for these issues.
Where Botox® excels, however, is for glabellar folds. These are the deep creases around the nasal bridge which give the patient an angry appearance. Botox® performs best in this location, and while not covered by insurance for this purpose, is quite affordable. The amount of Botox® administered and the frequency of visits can be titrated to the patient’s needs and budget.
